Smarty Pants . . .again :)

Dalyn was recognized at his Jr. High in Oregon.
He made the Pricipals Honor roll. That means he got straight A's!

We laughed because every single kid at the school (well it seemed like every single kid) was recognized that night.
We are belivers in making recognitions for kids really mean something. Make them work for it, it means more to them when you do. There were three groups recognized Principal's Honor roll, 5 kids were recognized, Acedemic Honor Roll, about 20 kids in that group, and the Honor Roll 65 kids! It turns out the qualifications for the last group was a GPA of 3.0 - 3.4 OR if you didn't get a referral- way to aim high Brixner.
Sorry not a big fan of that school.
Great staff and teachers! Lousy curriculum and expectations for our kids

His new Middle School is posing quite the challenge for him! I am LOVING it! He is still managing straight A's but he really has to WORK for it here.
He comes home talking about Poe and King Henry and the French Revolution and DNA and every aspect of cells you can imagine. He feels like he is actually learning and he really likes that.
He says he likes the "feel" of Brixner better (the teachers really like to teach there, mostly) and here he feels like most of them look at it like it's just a job.

We're sure proud of our brainiac!
