Well December started our final days in Oregon. Our house was pretty much packed at this point and we had decided that on the 13th of the month we would move in with my parents. We had the moving truck coming on the 20th. If you have ever moved with a family you know how difficult it is to actually pack the house and still need to do things like feed and bathe the children as well as have someplace for them to sleep at night and clothes to wear.
Moving in with my parents allowed us to really pack the entire house. We moved a few things in suitcases over there. The things we would need for our last couple of weeks as well as enough stuff to get us by in Charlotte until the moving truck was delivered.
The month was full of Christmas programs and Christmas prep. We didn't decorate our house at all but Nana and Papa let us deck their halls right along with them.
My mom came up with this cute idea of Christmas around the world. Every Sunday/Monday we had a dinner and learned about Christmas in a different country from our geneology. The three we decided on was England, American Indian, and Ireland.
The first was England. The kids made "Christmas Crowns" to wear durning dinner. We had a little story and lesson about what Christmas is like in England. We did something similar for all three. It was great!
I'm guessing Jilli is the photographer here.
We strung cranberries and popcorn for the tree. Raegan loves this tradition . . .
The kids and Nana had a good time decorating Grandma's room.
My dad's mom has been living with my parents for the past 4 years.
She was in the hospital for Christmas this year, but we got her room ready in case she got to come home. . .
More tree decorating . . .
Nana made a yule log for our "English Christmas" dinner . . .
One of the last things we did in our tiny house is make gingerbread houses. The house was pretty bare at this point but we didn't want to miss this fun tradition . . .
Raegan's class did a cute presentation on the Decleration of Independence . . .
Christmas Crazy hat day at school . . .
This hat idea was Ryan's brain child. Luckily he has a dad that can make anything a reality . . .
Lots of baking with Nana for neighbor goodie plates . . .
