Dalyn super loves Christmas! He wore this hat around most of the time and this night even slept with it :)
Raegan and Janie are in Positive Notes again this year. This was their Christmas recital . . .
They both sang solos. I don't know what happened to the picture of Janie's.
Raegan sang, "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" . . .
Notice her outfit. Three other little girls had the exact same thing on. Side braid and all. I told one of the moms I was glad I got the dress code memo ;)
Dalyn and his Lego's. The stuff he can build is amazing to me . . .
For Christmas last year we started a fun tradition. Instead of making goodie plates, or buying neighbor/friend gifts we give the parents a free date night.
We sent out invites and let the craziness begin.
I think our grand total ended up being something like 23 kids including ours.
It was madness, but super fun too!
Jilli was in charge of this one ;) . . .
Janie was in charge of this one . . .
We made THEE biggest pot of mac and cheese that you have ever seen. this is after it was already mostly unloaded . . .
We had to set tables up in the garage to fit everyone . . .
We had kids EVERY. WHERE.
Truly everywhere . . . :)
I made a bunch of graham cracker houses earlier so everyone got to decorate a "gingerbread house" . . .
Terry was the baby whisperer . . .
It was madness, but definitely something we will continue to do :)
Terry's company puts on a Christmas party every year. It is about the only time in my life I have an excuse to really get dolled up, sparkly dress and all. It was super fun :)
And we inherited some bunnies.
Our neighbor across the street moved to Wyoming and asked if we would like to have the bunnies. They came complete with a hutch and water and food dishes. All we have to do is throw food at them twice a day, a job Raegan gladly signed up for. They are very tame. The kids love holding them and watching them hop around the yard.
The grey one is Eeyore and the white one is Soul.
This picture is side ways, but these are the cute little hand outs we made for the kids to hand out to their classes for Christmas. I ordered a huge lot of chap sticks a couple of months before Christmas so we were all set when it rolled around.
This picture is amazing because, look at Dalyn! Never thought I would see the day! Glowing technology/entertainment less then one foot away and yet he reads!!! I am in love with his sixth grade teacher! She has made reading so much fun for him! I think he has completed 8 1/2 books already this year! They included the last two Harry Potters (he read the others last year), Hatchet, the first Hunger Games, Enders Game, Wringer, Hoot, Flush, Uncle Tom's Cabin (this was the half, he started it and it was too boring to finish)
I am trying to keep up with him and read the books before he does, he is making it hard on me :)
The kids had a piano recital too. Aren't they darling :)
Ryan is playing this year too and doing great.

Wow, that Lego creation is impressive! And I love your neighbor "gift" of free babysitting. I'd just plop them all in front of the TV but you actually go all out with activities and fun! I need to move to your neighborhood:-)
