Mooore December :)

We actually went sledding a few times. I only took pictures on one of the trips . . .

The park we go to just has little hills. Big enough the kids feel like they are getting a ride but small enough they can trek up and down them for hours.
Dalyn was getting a little bored toward the end and had to find new ways to make it exciting . . .

Santa visited our ward Christmas party . . .
Jilli is less then thrilled, can you tell?

On Christmas Eve some of our super fun friends invited our family to go to the movies with them. It is a rare treat to get to take our whole family to the movie, such a fun Christmas present!
Excuse the zombie eyes . . .I don't edit :->

This trip should have had a post of its own . . .to late now.
After Christmas we headed to our beautiful Lake of the Woods again this year. We had to hike a half mile into the camp because the roads weren't plowed. But we planned for that with sleds and backpacks for the kids to pull and carry.
This was the scene on the hike in . . .

All loaded up and ready to hike . . .
I didn't get a good picture of what we actually had to push/pull in. I seriously thought I was going to die! That was the LONGEST half mile of my life! Terry and I would go a few feet then stop and have to breathe. It was a challenge. By the time we finally got to the cabin I was seriously questioning our decision to come at all!
This is actually the one Dalyn and Ryan ended up push/pulling in. The one Terry and I had was triple that size!
This was after 90% of it was already unloaded . . .
What a good big brother . . .
So Beautiful . . .

Off the trail and down into camp the snow was a good three feet deep. It was so hard to get around and slow going anywhere until we got a few good trails packed . . .

We brought lots of stuff to keep us busy in the cabin . . .

The wood stoves in those cabins work so great! Janie, and most of the kids, ran around shirt less most of the time. We had to crack windows all night long to keep everyone from sweating to death . . .

Lots of games played . . .

Hot coco snow . . .
Built some great forts . . .

That were perfect for reading in . . .
love Jilli's head lamp :)

Of course there was tons to do to keep us busy outside too . . .
Like kamikaze sled runs . . .

and normal sled runs too . . .
Alittle roof snow removal effort . . .

And more with the kamikazes . . .
notice it is the same person! This is so Raegan!

We had to really watch Jilli because if she got off the trail at all she sunk pretty much to her chin in snow . .
Snow Forts . . .

Last year we did a polar bear jump, in the lake. This year we couldn't even see the lake . . .
One night we gave the kids glow necklaces. They played outside and in the cabin until 11. Every night when it was time to wind down and head to bed I read this . . .

The kids LOVED it! It took us a few days after we got home to finish. Now my reading to them aloud while they lay in bed at night is a tradition. We are working on Secret Garden now.

It was seriously such a fun few days! I look forward to it next year already!

WOW!! You and your husband are truly ROCKSTAR parents! That is sooo much work but your kids will never forget it. You make me want to be better at making fun traditions for my kids:-)
