All kinds of crazy stuff happens. We have been awakened on more then one occasion in the wee hours of the morning by the sound of some very inebriated people staggering down the street yelling/singing/cursing.
The straightness of the street and length between stop signs/lights is apparently very enticing to the nascar hopefuls.
We have had a few cars end up in the middle of our grass in the front yard because . . . well they just must have been drunk because we don't live on a corner or any place you would be attempting to turn unless you lived there.
A couple weeks ago my kids were front and center to a full on take down. Cops pull the guy out of his car. Hands in the air. Spread eagle against the car. Frisk. Pile the drugs on the hood of the car. Cuff him. Shove him in the back seat of the cruiser. Haul him off.Tow truck comes to claim the felon's car. Very educational . . .
On this particular night there where lights blaring outside the window around 9 and when we peeked, what do you know another show from our local law enforcement . . .
About two minutes into this show the kids decided peeking through the blinds was too much work, so they pulled the entire shade up. I quickly vetoed that decision and they were left to ogle through the slits.
Now at this point I wonder if I should mention that one night a couple of months ago those flashing lights were aimed at us. Yup, we got pulled over in our own drive-way. Headlight was out . . .but very entertaining for those inside all the same.
In all I could go for a little less education for my children in this area :-/
