Race number 9

So by the time September slowed down enough for me to think about doing a race, it was almost over. I was all set to do a little fun run during the Siskyou Challenge but it was only about 2 miles and cheesy, when my friend asked if I wanted to do a run/hike to some mountain lakes we have around us.


So I had to decide between cheesy and official or longer and funner (I can say funner if I want to)


I went for funner :) AND I made it official with these totally awesome t-shirts I made for us . . .








So since I got a t-shirt that makes it official right? I think yes.


We headed down the Varney Creek trail toward Harriett Lake. About 5 seconds into it I knew I was in HUGE trouble . . . Karina is an AMAZING trail runner (barefoot and all) and there would be no "hiking" in our hike/run only RUNNING!!!!


I tried my hardest to keep up but finally she felt sorry for me and we walked in . . . for real, I was a little embarrased. In all we did 11.5 miles and were in and out in less then 4 hours. We saw three lakes and it was beautiful!

She ran barefoot, I did not but this is what my feet looked like afterwards . . . It was super fun! I would do it again . . . but I don't think Karina would have me : /
