So Terry has been hard at work driving the 45 minutes up the hill cutting down countless trees and loading them into the truck and trailer then hauling them back. Then it is a family affair to get them unloaded and in the back yard. On Saturday he decided to get all the trees cut into fire place size pieces, we rented a splitter and went to work. While he wielded the chain saw, I ran the splitter, for 13 HOURS, I was not behind the splitter for all of those, but probably at least half. Any way this is the pile of wood we ended up with!
This really does not even do it justice. Add the same size picture on either size of this one and you will get the idea. Terry said it was about 6 chord. I say more like 20(cuz I am the wood measuring expert and all).
On Monday the kids were out of school and I had Dalyn outside helping me stack it all. He asked if he could get paid for helping. I told him, "No this is something we do because we are part of a family and this family likes to stay warm in the winter, and this will keep us warm."
His response, "Well money will keep me warm too, cuz I'll just buy and ELECTRIC fireplace."
Now why didn't I think of that?

Wow, you guys are hard workers!
Yeah, he's a thinker! I love that you are teaching your kids that WORK is one great part of being in a family. That lesson is not taught like is should be anymore. Kudos to you and Terry, it's not an easy lesson to be the teachers of.
I think Dalyn must be my son. Before I read his response I thought, "if it were me I'd just buy a gas fireplace".
