Pre-Parties

Our "homemade" Christmas spilled over to our friends as well. We made up a cheesy little poem and handed them out to our friends inviting them to plan a fun night with their sweetheart then drop all their wee-ones off at our house for some free babysitting.

We had a great response and ended up with 20 kids at our house that night. We had a simple dinner, decorated "gingerbread" houses, watched a movie, played a little wii, and spent a lot of time outside on the trampoline and play fort.

We had to do everything in shifts, girls first then boys . . . cuz 20 kids in 1500 sq. feet = No elbow room :)Honestly, it was way less crazy then I thought it would be. The kids stayed really well spread out all night long. A few stayed glued to the wii, and a few wouldn't come in from outside. I really hope our friends had a great night!

Janie is in a speech therapy class once a week. The week before Christmas class was canceled and the kids were invited to this fun little party at the fairgrounds.

They had a "one horse open sleigh" that Janie could not get enough of. We rode that thing probably three times and sang the song just as many! It was the highlight, even though this is as close as she would get to the actual horses for a picture . . .
They had a few little crafts for the kids to do . . .And the day ended with a visit from the man in red himself (whom Janie is slightly terrified of). This was our third opportunity for her to visit with Santa this year and the first time she got within touching distance. While we were standing in line she went over and over with me what she wanted me to say "Santa, Janie just wants to stand next to you and take a picture. She doesn't want to talk to you or sit on your lap." As long as we had that down this picture was possible . . .Janie also got to go to her fourth girlie party. This months theme was a pajama party. She had a blast! See that little red thing she is holding? It is her "night owl". A super cute felt owl that is filled with rice that she INSISTS on having warmed up every night to cuddle with :)

The activities leading up to Christmas kept the anticipation through the roof at our house!
