Christmas Eve

We went caroling at the assisted living home around the corner from our house. We were the only ones this year, so it was a little awkward at first, but we just hammed it up and sang extra loud. The residence clapped along and even sang with us a little. The kids were on cloud nine afterward and it lead into a great discussion about service and living our lives as Christ would.Came home to an early Christmas Eve dinner . . .We spent some time making cards for Grandma Ashby, who was feeling really down. Ryan writes "Dear Grama. I know that you miss Grandad, but I made this for you. Love Ryan" It cheered her up a lot!He also wrote a little note to leave for Santa . . .We opened and played a new family game (a tradition Terry would like to implement) . . .This year trouble and dominoesThe kids opened Christmas jammies, took baths, then piled in the car to look at Christmas lights . . . We ended up at Nana's house for egg nog and the papa reading the Christmas story in Luke. They also got to open their new Christmas clothes Nana and papa got for them to wear to church.
Bedtime was super easy (except for Janie, more on that later) and they were asleep in no time!
