Catch Up

So we have been a busy bunch lately. So here is my long over due catch up.

Meet Cherry

Yes, we did get another puppy. Now, hold on the gasp and the you are so crazy, and the what the . . . were you thinking. This is something we have been contemplating for awhile now, and when our latest attempt to get rid of Chance didn't work, well this was the result.
We thought getting him a playmate would help, I was worried it would make things worse. The verdict . . . WHY DIDN'T WE DO THAT SOONER!!!!!! Seriously, it is like magic. Cherry and Chance go play outside they are both young enough that they really do play hard.
Chance will hold some toy and put it low enough so Cherry can reach, they will play tug of war, and he will run and she chases him, in short they totally wear each other out. Then when they finally do come in the house they crash. We are much better about where we want the boundaries to be for Cherry and she is learning very quickly were it is okay and not to wander,
Chance is still and issue on that front. She is such a good puppy and learns VERY quickly, a couple of scolds and she doesn't do it again, Chance again still an issue. What has come painfully clear to us since getting Cherry is just how seriously messed up Chance really is.
Having a "normal" dog to compare him to, wow what a mess, but she is good for him and in turn great for us! We are still working with him and some of his "issues" are finally starting to go away or a least get better since Cherry has come into our lives! YAY!!!!

Home Depot Day

We have been taking the kids to Home Depot on the first Saturday of the month for a long time now. They always have some fun wood project for the kids to do, then the kids get a cool pin to display on their personalized Home Depot aprons, Graeson even gets in on the action. When you have 4 kids doing the same project every month, stuff tends to get piled up, the stuff fairy thankfully comes and relieves me of most of it :P. If the kids are truly attached it will stick around a bit longer if not, well I take the fifth.

Go Dalyn
So remember when Dalyn tried out for the talent show at his school? Only two acts from his class would get to move onto another tryout, he was one of them!!! Then only one of those would get to perform in front of the whole school, he was chosen!!!!! He really did a great job and had a ton of fun. He was excited because "Mom, even some 6th graders were telling me that I did good magic!" He was so proud! And so were we! Good Job Dalyn! I videoed the whole thing, so the only picture I have was right before he started.

Children's Museum
So I have recently discovered the Children's Museum in town. I have no idea how long it has actually been around but I have only just been there. The kids LOVE it! Especially Ryan, I think he could spend all day every day there. We have been meeting some other moms, and it really just a lot of fun. Lots to pretend and play with, the the workers there wander around behind everyone and clean up it is fabulous place!

Valentines Day
So Valentines Day was fun as always. The night before our church had an Valentines Dinner, that was so much fun complete with awesome entertainment and free babysitting!
The next morning the kids of course woke up to their "heart attack". We almost missed it this year though. Terry and I went to bed without putting the hearts up (because we forgot) but luckily for my 2 am potty call, and I remember we still had work to do, fewwf! The walls and ceiling above all of their beds were plastered! It is amazing how many smiles a few heart post it pads from wal-mart can bring!
We started the morning with pink heart shaped pancakes, then we headed off to the primary activity, the kids had a blast, we had heart peanut butter and jelly for lunch then the kids go to open a book we bought for each of them and their own box of chocolates.
Dinner was the traditional "red" dinner, but Terry and I only observed these festivities, we put the kids to bed about an hour later and had our candle light, steak and shrimp! We exchanged gifts and just spent a quiet evening at home. It was really nice.

Random Funnies from the kids
This is a conversation I over heard Dalyn and Raegan have on the way home from church
Dalyn "Dad is not our real Dad."
Raegan "Yes he is."
Dalyn "No, Heavenly Father is our real Dad. Dad is just our all life babysitter!"
Terry says, he guesses that was his official demotion.
The other day I was trying to get Raegan's attention, and did the whole, "Grae, Ry, Dal, Raegan, can you come here please." She came into the room and said,
"You know mom it is okay if you call us the wrong name sometimes, because you have a whole ton of kids you know!" Ummm, yeah, thanks babe!

Ryan came to me with the saddest story I have ever heard. Jacob and Oacob (remember his friends) well they were having a party with a cake and Ryan was not invited. Poor Ry-Ry, his eyes were seriously full of tears he was trying so hard to blink back and his little mouth was quivering as he relayed these unfortunate events, he was trying not to just sob as he told me the story, his little heart was so totally broken that he was not invited to this party. I told him I did not think Jacob and Oacob were very nice friends to leave him out and asked if we should make our own cake and have a party at our house, he liked that idea and it seemed to cheer him up, so we had our own little party, he told me I didn't need to worry though because his birthday wasn't until next week. He is such a cute kid!

You are a brave women to get a puppy when you are pregnant! I have found most my frustrations during pregnancy all had to do with the dogs:) I love Ryan and have never even met him, he reminds me so much of my Kody. I also love so many of your traditions you have with your kids, I might even steal a few ideas if that's ok with you:)
