The week end before we had to take Cassie home we all jammed into the car . . .
And headed to this beautiful place to get some camping in . . .
After we set up camp we headed to the water cuz it was HOT that first day!
The kids thought it super fun to swim ALLLL the way out the the buoy's (Dalyn and Raegan sans life vests . . .terry was with them but STILL, talk about giving a mom a heart attack . . .
All I know is that this little dog better live f.o.r.e.v.e.r!!!!
We spent the next four days doing TONZ more swimming, bumming around camp . . .
Lots of biking
and bike tricking, just ask Terry's fractured ribs . . . yep he did, popped one too many sweet wheelies, a small equipment malfunction and he ended up broken . . . it was the most graceful head over heels bike tuck and roll I have ever seen though :) Could I really be so insensitive to my poor hubster . . . yes, but I did manage to stop laughing long enough to ask him is he was ok!
Taking "camping baths" . . . my kids hate showers (well the three little ones do anyway) so whenever we go camping we improvise a bath tub :)
We left the rain fly off the tent so we could look at the stars every night . . .
AND one night made a special effort to find a nice field near our site to do some star gazing. It was right about the time of the Perseid's Meteor showers so we got a pretty good show! One of them was truly the BEST shooting star I have ever seen, Terry agrees, and all the kids got to see it :)
We LOVE camping! Unfortunately we didn't get to do too much of it this summer, but don't be too sad for us we definitely didn't miss out on any fun this summer :)
p.s. this isn't the summer wrap up either ;)
