My fifth race was the 20th of May. A friend of mine organized this race for a little boy with several disabilities, we were raising money for his family to purchase a motorized wheel-chair.
I had to run it about an hour earlier then everyone else because I had another commitment that evening. So the kids and I showed up early, I snapped a couple of pictures of them and had them take some of me (well, they thought they took some, but in the end they didn't . . .I should have checked . . .)

I started my garmin and was off. Right when I was finishing the other races were showing up. I gave my time to the girl in charge and changed my clothes and left. Later I found out that I WON!!! (for the girls). There weren't very many runners in the first place, and I think only about 5 girls , but still . . .I am excited, it will be the only race in my life I will ever win, because . . .it just will :)
It was fun, now on to the BIG one. My half marathon is on the 11th. You can all be thinking of me that day and have a little prayer in your heart that I don't die :) . . .and I 'm only partly kidding

And just a little side note . . . see that stroller . . . We bought that right before Raegan was born. It has been with us for over 8 years, it is now living at the bottom of the canal near the high school.
In my hurry to change and get to the other function I needed to attend I left the race with the keys to Terry's car, leaving him stranded with five kids in a wind storm, and in the chaos of trying to figure out where to put everyone, and how to get them all home, the stroller was blown into the water and sank . . . never to be seen again (or until winter when they drain the canal)
but anyway . . .so long old friend
