We've got gingerbread men, well gingerbread parts all over our tree . . .

We started our Christmas stocking count down. In each stocking is a piece of the puzzle and a scripture about Christ as well as a challenge for the kids to do something that He has taught . . .like do an act of service for a family member, or in your personal prayers make a special effort to talk about everything you did that day, it is a lot of fun and the kids love it!
I have been helping the kids with their homemade Christmas gifts for their siblings . . .

(more on that when they are done)
We made old fashioned potpourri for the house (oranges with cloves stuck in it) . . .
And I've been busy finishing the stocking project I started last year. I was inspired by a lady and church who said she made giant stockings to hold a box of cereal. We have had the box of cereal tradition for as long as I can remember (only the boxes weren't in our stockings). I wanted to have some special stockings that the kids would grow up using so I started making some.

The first set ended up too small, but still super cute so those became Christmas gifts for Terry's brothers family . . .

I finally finished ours too! And they turned out sooooo cute! I am thrilled! And the are definitely HUGE! We put a box of cereal in one just to test it out and the box completely disappeared! They maybe a bit bigger then I had planned but we love them!

The first weekend in December Raegan decided she wanted to enter a local gingerbread house competition, so we got busy.
The first day we made the gingerbread . . .
Then we got busy baking and decorating . . .
Raegan was in charge of her own and the other kids collaborated on a second . . .

I think they turned out really cute.
When it came time to actually take it down to the competition in occurred to Raegan that if she turned it in to be judged she would not have it at home to eat. So in the end she decided contests are highly over rated and decided to leaver her gingerbread house out of it.
(Hers is the one on the right)
And all the while we have been crafting and such the house has been spotless and all the meals served piping hot and on time . . . .
NOPE!!!!!!
(just keepin' it real people . . . . . .
. . . . .keepin' it real!
Luckily this is NOT what the house looked like when Terry's boss showed up, lucky for him ;)
