Turkey Day

We had so much to be thankful for this year (just like every year)!

My brothers and sister all came into town. It was so much fun! And just to prove it . . . .

I didn't take ANY pictures!! Nope not one. Not of anyone of the 30 people that where there, not the ginormous tables stretched all through my moms house, not any of the two sledding trips, not of the double baby shower we had for my sister in law and my cousin, not of skeet shooting, not of the kids having a blast playing soccer and volleyball at the church . . .NOT. ONE.

Inexcusable!!!!!

We started the week with a fun family night where we all sat down and thought of people in our lives we are thankful for and wrote them a little note.

Then over the next few days when the kids got home from school we went around and delivered them. Some that made our list where the mailman, the police, the firefighters and the dentist.

Here are the kids delivering some yummy zucchini bread to the police and firefighters . . .

The police people gave them all a set of cards (like baseball cards) with pictures of their K-9 unit. The kids loved it, and I always love it when I see them being thankful. We also made a thankful tree this year. Then we all filled out a few leaves that said things we were thankful for. I left a bowl of leaves on the counter so throughout the week as they thought of more things they could fill a leaf out and stick it up.

It's fun to walk by and read what the kids are thankful for, things like "hete" and "close" and "lipstik" Luckily my awesome SiL Annalee, took some pictures, so I snagged them from her blog . . . thanks Annalee :)

The delicious feastA few of the cute kiddies at the kiddie table (there were 10 kids . . .next year there will be 12!)And our traditional German Breakfast. This year our collection of personalized mugs were complete. Each one of those super cute blue with white polka-dot mugs has each of our names on them. Jilli even has one now! Thanks Frank and Silvia we LOVE them! It was such a fun year! We really do have so much to be thankful for and it makes it all that much better when the things you are most thankful for are all in the same room!

everyone looks so nice! I never take pictures either. Sometimes i feel like taking pictures so much detracts from the quality time spent together. At least that is what I tell myself to make myself feel better! :) I hope you are having a Merry Christmas!
