On our way home from our trip we got a phone call that my Grandad had been rushed to the hospital and was not doing well. When we got home Tuesday night we were able to run up there and see him. He was very sick with pneumonia and I don't think really knew that we where there, but he did talk to us for just a second, only to say he would talk to us later. Early the next morning, Wednesday, we got a phone call that he had passed away that night.
THEN later that same day Graeson had been really sick and seemed to be getting worse, around 4 I decided to take her to the walk in at the doctors. The doc took one look at her and after a short exam, proclaimed she needed to head straight over to the hospital. He thought she had pneumonia!!!! Not a good thing to say to a mom who just lost her grandad, the day before from that same word! Anyway, I did manage to keep it together pretty well, after much silent prayer that is, "Heavenly Father, please don't let me totally freak out right here in the doctors office." I called Terry and he and my dad headed straight over to the hospital to give her a blessing, so thankful for priesthood! She had to go through a battery of tests. Blood work, IV (which they had to do 3 times because she was so dehydrated that her little veins kept bursting), urine cath, chest x-ray, poor baby. Her temp was 103 pretty constant. Anyway we had to stay the night.
Terry went home to take care of things there and little princess and I had a sleepover at the most expensive place in town (SOOO excited for that bill!)
The next morning she was doing better, they did not want to let her leave because she was still not drinking on her own (they were offering chicken broth and apple cider, I mean really, she's two!) I convinced them that I could be quite persuasive with a two year old (capri suns and popcicles anyone?) and that I would keep her hydrated. We got to leave around 1 that afternoon.
Friday we had all kinds of family come into town for the funeral, so that was a ton of fun. Cousins I haven't seen in 20 years, no joke, and WOW that makes me sound old! Another bummer I got exactly ZERO pictures of it all, fabulous! It was fun to hang out and get to know each other again. I have discovered Terry and I are not the only game junkies in the family (board games and card games I mean)!
Of course the 4th was on Saturday. We started the day with an awesome devotional at the church, the kids got to do a little song for that, then we headed over to the parade with the fam.

Klamath parades are truly a little laughable, I mean is a big Chevy with a sign glued to the side really a float? But whatever the kids had a great time eating donuts and spitting cherry seeds in the street and of course the all popular Uncle Buck and Annalee.
We did a few crafts at home and just had some down time

Then my mom, true to form, put on a feast! We decided not to go to the big fireworks at the lake this year and opted to have our own private show in my parents yard. They have a neighbor who must spend at least $1000 on illegal fireworks every year, he puts on a great show, we were definitely not disappointed!
Needless to say it has been one crazy week around here, for the most part we are all doing well despite everything. It makes me really thankful for families, and the knowledge of what happens after we die, and health, and days when you have NOTHING to do.

Oh my word, I love you! You totally fixed my blog. I don't know why I didn't even think of clicking those tabs. I have all the pictures on cd already, I just need your address. You can email it to me if you want so as not to risk people seeing it on blog. It's annalee.ashby@imail.org. I love your post, and also I wanted to ask you, did you get that Bohnanza bean game at a game store? Because I couldn't find it at Walmart. Thanks again for fixing my blog! :)
Sorry to hear about your Granddad. Your life just doesn't seem to slow down, does it? I'm glad Graeson is ok and that you all have fun on the 4th!
When things are going well, that is when you need to watch out...something is coming! I'm glad Graeson if doing well. Come and visit us Utah folk once in a while.
