Happy Birthday Bo-J

Well our little man is getting older, (notice I didn't say bigger, he is still so shrimpy, only 1/2 a head taller then Grae).

Anyway little man Ryan turned 4 on the 24th. We gave him the option to either have a friend party, or he could choose an outing with the family. He decided it would be more fun to do something fun with the fam. So after much discussion, it was decided that we would head out camping, YAY!
However we couldn't let his actually birth DAY pass with out celebration so we still had tons of fun . . .

Started out with the traditional birthday breakfast, Ryan chose pancakes with strawberries, bacon and hot cocoa. The "special" plate and cup came with the meal. He had swim lessons but I let him decide if he wanted to go to his lesson or to the library where there was a magician, you can guess where he chose to be.
We headed out to the library to see the magician. It was really impressive, the guy did a great job! Ryan LOVED it! Although you wouldn't think so looking at that last picture, hahaha!

Then we headed outside for a picnic lunch, always a win!

He requested his favorite meatballs with rice and sauce for dinner. Then it was time for the loot. He got stocked up on gear for our upcoming camping trip . . .

And a badly needed new helmet. This child would live on wheels if he could and with his history a helmet is a must!

He also got some McDonald's money from Papa and Nana and a new scooter to zoom around on.

Then we tried to put all the kids in a sugar coma with the cake. I really like to make theme cakes for the kid's birthday's. Whatever the party theme is I will make a cake to go along with it. Since Ryan decided to go camping, I thought a smores cake would be fitting. My picture really doesn't do it justice it looked great, but holy moly can you say sugary, YIKES. We gave all the kids a piece with ice cream, then quickly lost the rest of it in the trash!

After cake and ice cream we headed to the bike path for a family bike ride so he could test out his new wheels.Ryan didn't last very long and shortly after we started decided he would rather go to the park, so we did.

Sheesh, I am realizing I only have two pictures the whole day with Dalyn in it :( Sorry D-man, you were there, promise. But here is a quick funny story. So Every year on the kids b-day we buy a few balloons to put next to their bed when they wake up. They love it and play with them all day, and divide them up with brothers and sisters. So Ryan gave one in his bunch to Dalyn, later that day Dalyn used his smooth talk to convince Ryan, he could have "Dalyn's" balloon if Ryan would give him his scooter, and Ryan agreed. Later when they were arguing over the scooter and I intervened, Dalyn informed me of this new arrangement, of course it would never fly, but nice try ya lil swindler!

On the way home we stopped at Red Box and he was the only one allowed to get out and pick out a movie to watch that night, he felt like Mr. Big Pants picking out a movie all by himself.

And so the day ended with the kids vegging out on the couch watching Scooby Doo. All in all it was a really fun day. AND we still get to look forward to camping! We leave tomorrow :)
